Dr. Cleydes Dougherty, DMD
Dr. Cleydes Dougherty is a highly-skilled dentist trained in both the United States and Venezuela. She is a graduate of the dentistry program at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, one of the most respected dental schools in Latin America. Following her graduation, Dr. Dougherty completed coursework in Advanced Adult Dentistry, which earned her a Master’s degree from the Universidad Santa Maria in Caracas, Venezuela. She also completed a comprehensive residency in aesthetic dentistry and implants. Dr. Dougherty went on to become a faculty member at the University, instructing third and fourth-year students in Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry as well as supervising all aspects of patient care and treatment in the Adult Services Clinics.
After arriving in the United States, Dr. Dougherty continued her dental training at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL where she completed a rigorous two-year clinical residency program encompassing aesthetic dentistry and treatment of patients with special needs. During this time, Dr. Dougherty won several awards for excellence in both general and special needs dentistry, and conducted research in the areas of composite materials and management of patients with autism.
Dr. Dougherty’s main interests are managing complex restorative and cosmetic cases and educating her patients in proper preventative dental care. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and the Florida Dental Association (FDA).
Dr. Maria Alejandra Semprun, DMD
Dr. Maria Alejandra Semprun received her DMD degree from the Universidad Santa Maria in Venezuela, during which time she was involved in research projects in the areas of clinical pathology, periodontics, orthodontics and temporomandibular disorders.
After arriving in the United States, she completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at Nova Southeastern University. This one-year program allowed Dr. Semprun to refine and enhance her skills and scientific knowledge in areas such as endodontics, implant restorations, oral surgery and special needs care. She then went on to complete a rigorous three-year program at Nova, which earned her a DMD degree.
Dr. Semprun believes strongly in catering to each patient's dental needs by formulating a treatment plan that will best suit the patient's individual requirements. Her multi-disciplinary approach to patient treatment arises from her broad training in various aspects of dental medicine.
Dr. Semprun is currently a member of the Florida Dental Association (FDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA).
Tiffany Johnson, RDH
Tiffany Johnson is a graduate of St. Petersburg College and has been a valued member of our practice for the last four-and-a-half years. She is an outstanding hygienist who takes the time to get to know you and understand your needs. Tiffany strongly believes in educating her patients and also likes to emphasize the proper technique for brushing the teeth you want to keep.
Beth Culleton, RDH
Beth Culleton is the newest hygienist in our office, having been with us for the past seven months. It is Beth's goal to provide all patients with comfortable, quality care. By getting to know you on a personal level, Beth caters your treatment to best meet your unique needs.
Denise Chiplock, RDH
Denise has been a part of our hygiene team for the past three years and has over ten years of experience in the dental hygiene field. As she focuses on your oral health and preventing tooth loss, Denise shares her dental knowledge to help you achieve a clean, healthy smile.
